- The Society will take every precaution possible for the safekeeping of all exhibits but assumes no responsibility in case of loss or damage to person or stock or other exhibits and upon these conditions only are entries received.
- All sheep exhibited must be free from scab infection.
- Market lambs will be limited to one exhibit per class.
- Animals from a flock under quarantine for any reason cannot be exhibited. SEE HEALTH RULES.
- No animals will be allowed to unload until examined.
- All purebred exhibits must be registered in a recognized breeders association and carry association ear tags and papers must be presented to the superintendent except on lambs.
- All sheep exhibited must be registered and owned by the exhibitor 30 days prior to the first day of the Fair.
- An exhibitor may enter and show two entries in each class, and one entry in each group class, but may not receive more than two premiums in each class.
- A farm flock shall consist of one ram and two ewes of one breed.
- Any animal in any class must be worthy of recognition, fitted for show and properly handled or it will be eliminated from competition at the discretion of the superintendent.
- All ewes 2 years old and over are required to have suckled a lamb during the present year.
- A grade is hereby defined as being sired by a purebred ram.
- No rams shall be shown in Market Lamb Classes.
- All breeding sheep should be properly fitted and trimmed. All market lambs must be “slick sheared” one (1) week prior to the fair.
- All Breeding animals must be shown in single classes to be eligible for group classes.
- LEASED ANIMALS may be shown by youth in the Open Show. The lease agreement and a copy of the registration paper for each animal must be presented at check in time.
- Pens will be allocated by the Superintendent according to number of entries. Two, three, or four sheep per pen based on size and sex.
- Exhibitors must furnish their own bedding, feed and forage needs and will be permitted to deliver such supplies to their exhibit area before 9:00 AM daily. Vehicles making such deliveries must be removed by 9:00 AM
- Judging of sheep will follow the single placing system (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) and a total not to exceed $310 will be awarded in this department, prorated according to the total number of entries. The approximate premium in each class is indicated after each class. These cash awards may not be exceeded but may be diminished.
- Unworthy animals will receive no awards.
- Sheep may be shown on halter.
- ALL medical sharps or medical waste products MUST be disposed of properly. Medical wastereceptacles are available near the end of the animal barns. DO NOT, under any circumstances, throw sharps in the trashcans, manure pit, feed bags or bedding. ANY exhibitor failing to follow this procedure will automatically FOREIT all prize money and WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SHOW at the Allegany County Fair for THREE CONSECUTIVE YEARS. There will be ZERO tolerance for such offense.

- All purebred exhibits must be registered in a recognized breeders association and owned by exhibitor for at least 30 days prior to the Fair.
- Exhibitors will be limited to 2 exhibits per class. Except Market Pigs will be limited to one exhibit per class.
- In General, Market Pigs are those weighing more than 180 pounds in suitable condition for marketing as butcher hogs.
- The single placing system (1st,2nd,3rd, etc.) will be used in judging hogs and a total, not to exceed $150, will be awarded in this department, pro-rated according to the total number of entries. After each class, the approximate premium is indicated. These cash awards cannot be exceeded but may be diminished.
