Welcome to the Allegany County Fair! Below you’ll find everything you need to know before visiting, including hours, admission, parking, rules, and directions.

BE PROUD OF YOUR COUNTY FAIR

Proudly wear an “Allegany County Fair Button”. They are available for a $2.00 donation at the Antique Museum, Domestic Arts, Grange Food Stand, Main Hall, and Sugar Shack.

Bring the family, spend the day, and take a walk through the Shawmut Railroad cars, visit the Sugar Shack and enjoy the maple treats, check out the handcrafted items in the Domestic building. Take a walk back in time at the Grange, Fair Museum and the County Museum displays, wander through the Antique Equipment, and watch the working Sawmill, visit the Barns, and see the Animals, walk through the 4-H and Education Buildings, and see what the Youth of our County have accomplished, visit the Commercial Exhibits both in the Milton Jennings Hall and on the grounds.  Have a seat in the Mini Theater and watch a wide variety of entertainment. Enjoy the variety of food available on the grounds, rest and visit on the Memorial Benches and so much more…

A place to meet new friends and reconnect with old friends.

There is free parking on the Fairgrounds until the lot is full.

No Pets Allowed


Hours of Operation

  • Fairgrounds open daily at 8:00 AM
  • Vendors and buildings open at 10:00 AM
  • Rides open daily at 3:00 PM
  • Rides open at 12:00 PM on Wednesday and Saturday
  • Rides close at 10:00 PM
  • Railroad Museum open from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Fair closes daily at 10:00 PM

Note: Ride operations are subject to weather and safety conditions.


Tickets and Admission

  • General Admission: $12.00 per person
    • Price includes demonstrations, all commercial and animal exhibits and All Grandstand Events. Rides are sold separately
  • Wednesday Family Day: $5.00 admission (all day)
    • Admission for all ages, except rides are sold separately. Extra Activities for Kids, Baby Show, Pedal Tractor Pull and more.
  • Children 3 years and under: Free
  • General parking is free (while space is available)
  • Family Day Wednesday Admission $5.00 all day on Wednesday per person

Season Passes and Ride Pricing

  • Season Pass: $40.00
  • Membership Pass: To Be Determined
    (Includes Allegany County Agricultural Society membership)

Ride Pricing

  • Most rides require 3–4 tickets
  • Ride-All-Day Bands:
    • Monday – Thursday: $12.00
    • Friday & Saturday: $15.00

Ride prices are subject to change by the ride contractor.


Parking Information

  • Free parking is available on the fairgrounds until full
  • Please follow directions from staff and volunteers
  • Improperly parked vehicles may be towed

Handicap Parking

  • Available near the fair entrance (limited during peak times)
  • Official handicap tags are required
  • If full, passengers may be dropped off at the front gate

Vehicle Rules

  • Parking inside the fairgrounds requires a permit
  • Deliveries must be completed before 10:00 AM
  • Vehicles inside the grounds are discouraged for safety
  • Unauthorized vehicles may be moved or towed

Fair Rules and Policies

The Allegany County Fair is a family-oriented agricultural event operated by the Allegany County Agricultural Society.

General Rules

  • All patrons must have a valid ticket or pass
  • No refunds
  • Grounds open daily at 8:00 AM

Prohibited Items & Activities

  • No bikes or skateboards
  • No pets allowed
    (including comfort, emotional support or therapy animals)
  • No alcohol or illegal drugs
  • No smoking or e-cigarettes in buildings or the grandstand
  • Do not bring pets as we will ask them to be removed from the grounds and we do not condone leaving unattended animals in hot or running vehicles in our parking area.

Service Animals

  • Permitted only if trained to assist a person with a disability
  • Must meet vaccination and documentation requirements

Amusement rides are not included with admission and require separate purchase.

Getting There

  • Take Exit 31 (Angelica) off I-86 / NY-17
  • Head north at the exit
  • Turn right to reach the fair entrance (on the left)

Parking Directions

  • Enter through the main fair entrance
  • Stay to the right of the first gate for general parking
  • Handicap parking is near the entrance (limited availability) Official handicap hangtags are required in handicap lot. 

Drop-Off Area

  • Passenger unloading is available at the front gate
  • Use designated spaces only
