BLUE RIBBON SIGN-UP

All youth exhibitors must comply with RULES AND REGULATIONS, and STANDARDS FOR FAIRS, as listed in the front of this booklet, as well as 4-H and FFA rules.  All entries are due by date specified on the pre-fair letter.  The Danish System of judging is used.  All late entries will show for RIBBONS ONLY, no premiums or trophies.

There is to be No paper or trash in the manure pit.  Premiums may be held for anyone violating this policy.

The classes in this department are open to 4-H members of Allegany County who are regularly enrolled and carrying on 4-H work this year and are open to regularly enrolled vocational agriculture and home economics students in Allegany County.  However, no person may enter animals or exhibits who in the year of the Fair has shown or is showing in another county fair youth show, whether 4-H, FFA, or FHA.

All exhibits must have been raised, owned, certified, or produced by the exhibitors during the current project or school year.

All animals must be shown by exhibitor unless excused by superintendent because of illness, etc.  If two animals are entered in one class, the second animal must be shown by a youth aged 8-18, prior to January 1 of the year of the Fair.

Wash Rack Regulation: 30 minutes at the wash rack (common courtesy and cooperation will be needed).  Please only take the one or two animals that you are able to wash at one time leaving room for all exhibitors.  Exhibitors are responsible for clean up at wash rack after use, also when walking to and from wash rack.

The Allegany County Fair Association assumes no responsibility in case of loss or damage to the exhibit, and upon this condition only are exhibits accepted.

All exhibitors must participate in all activities, which involve their exhibits.

“For Sale” signs, notices, etc. may not be displayed with youth exhibits.

State Fair exhibits will be selected based on State Fair classes available and County Fair awards.

Superintendents can limit the number of entries accepted per exhibitor if stall space is limited.

Enrollment fee for current program must be paid.

All clubs are responsible for setting up their club exhibits in the Youth Building on Saturday or Sunday.  All individuals will also be responsible for displaying their items and will have a reserved spot in the Youth Building.

ALL medical sharps or medical waste products MUST be disposed of properly.  Medical waste receptacles are available near the end of the dairy barn.  DO NOT, under any circumstances, throw sharps in the trash cans, manure pit, feed bags or bedding.  ANY exhibitors, failing to follow this procedure, will automatically FORFEIT all prize money and WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SHOW at the Allegany County Fair for THREE CONSECUTIVE YEARS.  There will be ZERO tolerance for such offense.
