Required 4-H age is 8 years old as of January 1, current year.
Junior Heifer calf – born on or after January 1 of current year.
Senior Heifer calf – born between September 1 and December 31 of preceding year. Late Summer Yearling Heifer – born between July 1 & August 31 of preceding year. Summer Yearlings Heifer – born between May 1 and June 30 of preceding year.
Spring Yearlings Heifer – born between March 1 & April 30 of preceding year.
Junior Yearlings Heifer – born between January 1 & last day of February of preceding year. Senior Yearlings Heifer – born between September 1 and December 31 of 2 year ago.
Cow w/natural calf at side, calf – born after January 1 of current year. Junior Bull Calf – born on or after January 1 of current year.
Senior Bull Calf – born between September 1 and December 31 of preceding year. Yearling Bull – born between January 1 & August 31 of preceding year.
Bulls 12 months or older must have a nose lead or nose ring. Unmanageable animals may be excused at discretion of Beef Superintendent. Late Fair entries may show forribbons only. Exhibitors will be limited to 2 exhibits per class.

Animals entered here must not be shown in other 4-H or FFA classes. Males must be properly castrated. Stags and short scrotum animals are ineligible. ALL MUST BE PROPERLY DEHORNED OR POLLED. Except feeder classes, all must have been born during the preceding year. All must have been fed by the exhibitor.
Owners must help weigh animals – 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday. Judge may designate classes according to numbers, maturity, or degree of finish.
