Rabbit Show and Contests – Thursday, 9:00 AM – Livestock Show Ring

  1. Only healthy, clean animals may be exhibited. The cages and tack area must be kept clean and neat. All cages must be thoroughly clean at close of fair.
  • Rabbits are checked-in Sunday between 10:00 to 3:00 PM.
  • Sawdust for rabbits will be available on the grounds. 
  • Exhibits may be limited due to space available.
  • All rabbits must be permanently tattooed.
  • Limit 4 entries per exhibitor.
  • Each 4-H’er must exhibit his/her own animal.

PEN OF 3 MEAT RABBITS (SR956)

1 – A pen of three meat rabbits 70 days of age or younger

2 – Must be the same breed and variety (color) – same litter

3 – Must weigh three and a half pounds minimum and five and a half pounds maximum, individually

PET CLASS

Entries are limited to 2 animals per exhibitor. They will be judged on cleanliness, condition, personality, and characteristics that show they are good pets. NOT on how close they are to a breed standard.

Not open to exhibitors showing Breed Classes.

POULTRY SCIENCE SHOW

Chicken Judging – Tuesday, 9:00 AM – Livestock Barn

Pullorum Testing Required.  See Health Rules at beginning of Fair Book

  1. All birds exhibited must have been raised, selected and groomed by exhibitor.
  • Only one entry per bird.
  • Birds must be in show quality conditions: clean, healthy, vigorous, mature, and fully feathered.
  • Poultry are checked-in Sunday between 10:00 and 3:00. No bird will be allowed in the coops until after it has been inspected by the Poultry Superintendent. This is mainly a precaution to eliminate birds with lice, mites, or undesirable poultry.
  • Rules and restrictions will be mailed upon receipt of fair entry.
  • Limit 5 per member (excluding Market Poultry SP957)

PEN OF 2 MEAT CHICKENS (SP 957)

1.  A pen of two meat chickens.

2.  Must be hatched 6 – 8 weeks prior to county fair of current year.

3.  Must weigh 8-11 pounds per bird. (16-22 pounds per pen)                                                                                                                

                                                PEN OF 1 MEAT TURKEY (SP 959)     

1.  A pen of 1 Meat Turkey

2.  Must be hatched in January prior to county fair of current year.

3.  Tom must weigh 30-35 pounds. Hen must weigh 18-24 pounds.
