HIGH SCHOOL AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION
DEPARTMENTS OF ALLEGANY COUNTY

>Judging will be on the group award system and the amount offered in this department will be prorated if the total amount of prizes is greater than the amount offered.
>Each article must be completely and carefully labeled with letters and figures corresponding to those in the fair book.
>All Youth entries shall be made through the 4-H Office and are due by the date on the Junior Department entry form.
>Entries in this department are open only to members in good standing of organized FFA chapters in the schools listed above, who are registered in agriculture courses. Each teacher shall furnish a list of his/her members in good standing at the time of the fair.
GENERAL RULES
- In all judging contests open to both FFA and 4-H members, a member may represent both.
- There will be no limit to chapter representation in the contests, but only the 3 high individual scores will be taken for team competition.
- There shall be no communication between contestants and any other person during a contest.
- Contestants should acquaint themselves with each contest procedure before entering; help will not be given during the contest.
- Each contestant should be prepared to represent the county at the New York State Fair.
- Official judging will be done by an official.
CONTESTS
Awards: prizes of $6, $5, $4 and $3 will be awarded the high scoring FFA teams, unless otherwise stated.

| $35 will be allotted to participating schools. | ||

| Open to Allegany County youth 14-19 years old who have completed a Tractor Certification | |||||||
| program conducted in accordance with New York State Fair specifications. | |||||||
| Part A – Written test on safe operation and servicing | |||||||
| Part B – Timed period driving prescribed course with two and four wheel wagons. | |||||||

Selection will be made from high individuals for FFA, and 4-H teams go to Empire Farm Days. This is limited to two (2) contestants per class per FFA chapter.
